“A radge and tender love story”
‘____ is where the heart is’ is a co-production between Creative Electric, Birds of Paradise Theatre and The Touring Network as part of the BRAW initiative.
BRAW aimed to explore artistic vibrancy by placing urban artists within rural communities to create new work.
The result was ‘____ is where the heart is’ a play for two performers of any gender, sexuality, age or race which explored the impact of a persons environment on their mental health.
"The body you’re born into and the place you live determines who you are.
There's no way to be a quiet rebel in a village.
Everything you do becomes a statement.
There’s no opportunity to experiment with who you are when you’re amongst closed minds.
I don’t live amongst prejudice. People have to be taught to hate. And they don’t hate something that they don’t know exists."
Written and directed by Heather Marshall
Performed by Nicholas Alban and Conrad Williamson.
With BSL performance from Jamie Rhea.
